Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®)

Chris Bonapace holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and the CFP® flame design marks are certification marks owned by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (“CFP Board”).

The CFP® certification is a voluntary certification; no federal or state law or regulation requires financial planners to hold CFP® certification. It is recognized for its high standard of professional education, examination, experience, and ethics.

Certification Requirements

  • Completion of CFP Board-approved education and a bachelor’s degree
  • Passing the comprehensive CFP® Certification Examination
  • At least three years of qualifying financial planning experience
  • Agreement to adhere to CFP Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct

Ongoing Requirements

  • 30 hours of continuing education every two years
  • Renewal of ethical commitment and fiduciary obligation

Certified Exit Planning Advisor™ (CEPA®)

Chris Bonapace also holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor™ (CEPA®) designation, awarded by the Exit Planning Institute (EPI).
The CEPA® credential is a globally recognized professional certification for advisors who specialize in exit planning for business owners.

Certification Requirements

  • Completion of the CEPA® education program
  • Passing the CEPA® Certification Examination
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience
  • Adherence to EPI’s ethical standards

Ongoing Requirements

  • 40 hours of continuing education every three years
  • Continued compliance with professional conduct standards
